The 7th Annual Women\u2019s Summit will take place on Sept. 24, 2020, from 8am to 5pm. The summit is co-sponsored by the CNMI Women\u2019s Association and the Women\u2019s Affairs Office under the Governor\u2019s Office, in collaboration with community partners from both the public and private sectors. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cContinuing to Rise: Women Leading Sustainable Development.\u201d Organizers have enlisted panelists from the community to speak about various topics of relevance to sustainable development. <\/p>\n
This virtual summit is part of our 2020 CNMI Women\u2019s Month Celebration, which was held in March 2020. It was originally scheduled for March 27, 2020; however, it had to be postponed because of the pandemic. <\/p>\n
The panel discussions planned for this year will focus on Disaster Recovery, Economic Growth and Development, Health, and Military Buildup. Through these presentations and discussions, we hope for a better understanding of how the CNMI\u2019s women are leading sustainable development on our islands across the various sectors. Furthermore, through the sharing of knowledge in this summit, organizers hope to impart information that would benefit our rising female leaders on how they too can lead the sustainable development of our island nation successfully. <\/p>\n
