{"id":329818,"date":"2020-09-15T06:02:17","date_gmt":"2020-09-14T20:02:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=329818"},"modified":"2020-09-15T06:02:17","modified_gmt":"2020-09-14T20:02:17","slug":"19m-more-of-pua-out-second-batch-of-child-tax-in-the-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/19m-more-of-pua-out-second-batch-of-child-tax-in-the-works\/","title":{"rendered":"$19M more of PUA out, second  batch of child tax in the works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Finance began releasing yesterday $19 million in Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and has started working on the second batch of child tax refunds or rebates. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a radio news briefing last Friday, Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig said he is not privy to the different PUA administrative issues that the community usually asks about but, as far as what Finance has done in the last week, they drew down an additional $19 million that would hopefully be released first thing Monday (yesterday).<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026We sent out a test deposit with zero funds just to make sure that the accounts are accurate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Atalig said when a person receives zero transaction in their direct deposits, that\u2019s a great thing. \u201cThat means that they\u2019re cleared and ready to go. And on Monday morning, when we send out the actual direct deposit, they should be receiving that money in their account the next day or two.
