Spicy Thai in Garapan has been successfully navigating its business through this pandemic by growing with the times. Their staying power is attributed to the way they respond to any situation and how they evolve, finding ways to adjust and improve service to the community while serving delicious Thai dishes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started doing\u00a0dine-in services on July 7 after being inspected by the Bureau of Environmental Health. \u2026Due to health and safety guidelines, we cannot continue our lunch buffet until it is safe to do so. To make up for that, the Spicy Thai team has decided to do a four-choice $10 lunch special and you can come in and choose the dishes you wish to eat. If you want more choices, it will just be $2 extra,\u201d said executive assistant Jean Bracken.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur portion size is quite big and most customers take home their leftovers. We tried to come up with a way to incorporate our buffet into a more healthy and safe way and to limit social interactions. We believe this is a good idea for customers to enjoy their meals without having to wait for their food being made while also having that \u2018lunch buffet\u2019 atmosphere,\u201d Bracken added<\/p>\n

Spicy Thai tries to expand and switch up food items every day. \u201cUsually we try to incorporate Thai desserts or the occasional brownie and cupcake into our lunch specials. Thai desserts are hard to come by here on Saipan and we wanted to bring a little piece of Thailand to Saipan by making them authentic.\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThai desserts range from sweet sticky rice with custard to a Thai-style halo halo drink. Saturdays and Sundays are usually when you can find these desserts. We always announce available desserts on our Facebook page: Spicy Thai-Saipan,\u201d she added<\/p>\n

Now that their dine-in service has been running for two months, health and safety protocols are also in place. Before walking into the restaurant, customers must sanitize their hands using our automatic hand-sanitizing dispenser. They then need to write down their names, how many people are there in their party, telephone numbers, and their temperatures. Customers must wear their face masks in order to come into the restaurant. Social distancing is a must in order to fight the spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Bracken said all these safety precautions are required by the BEH. Customers are welcome to make reservations but it is not required.<\/p>\n

Whether it is dine-in or take out during lunch time, Spicy Thai makes sure to meet customer satisfaction. \u201cWe have received great feedback from our customers. The fast-paced lifestyle makes it hard for people to dine in and wait for their food, so the\u00a0bento boxes are a nice touch for a \u2018Grab \u2018N\u2019 Go\u2019 situation. One customer also said that we have the best deal on the market with our bentos being only $10,\u201d Bracken said.<\/p>\n

The restaurant publishes its daily lunch specials, announcements and all things Thai on its Facebook page. Dinner is reserved only for ala carte items from their menu. \u201cHowever, we do catering options from 11am to 8:45pm every day,\u201d Bracken added.<\/p>\n
