{"id":329954,"date":"2020-09-17T06:03:33","date_gmt":"2020-09-16T20:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=329954"},"modified":"2020-09-17T06:03:33","modified_gmt":"2020-09-16T20:03:33","slug":"chambers-joins-the-cnmi-bar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/chambers-joins-the-cnmi-bar\/","title":{"rendered":"Chambers joins the CNMI Bar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Keith Chambers II was sworn into the CNMI Bar Association last Tuesday at the Guma Hustisia soon after passing the CNMI bar exam.<\/p>\n<p>Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexandro Cruz Castro swore in Chambers at the Supreme Court courtroom in the presence of Superior Court associate judge Joseph N. Camacho and Superior Court deputy clerk and judicial assistant Delia Salas Magofna.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great honor being part of the CNMI Bar. I\u2019m very thankful for everyone who came out today and it makes me so happy to see everyone and it\u2019s very exciting. I\u2019m very happy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Chambers said it was a great honor to be the only person who took and passed the exam this year.<\/p>\n<p>Chambers, who has been in the CNMI since January 2019 as Camacho\u2019s law clerk, said that passing the bar opens a lot of opportunities for him in the CNMI.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_329955\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-329955\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Keith-Chambers-IIcolor.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-329955\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Keith-Chambers-IIcolor-1024x531.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"498\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-329955\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Keith Chambers II<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI am Judge Camacho\u2019s law clerk and my contract expires on Jan. 22. As far as moving forward after that, we\u2019ll have to wait and see. Passing the bar definitely keeps my options open but I don\u2019t have anything set up at this moment but I\u2019m looking forward to staying in the CNMI for the long-term future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Chambers encourages others to take on the association\u2019s exam next year. \u201cI do encourage everyone to take the CNMI Bar, especially the law clerks and everyone here in the community who have not yet [done so]. I encourage people to come out here.
