A man who pleaded guilty to making methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d was sentenced to prison for up to three years. <\/p>\n
District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona sentenced Rick Urumelog Omar Jr. to a total of 36 months in prison last Wednesday for his involvement in manufacturing \u201cice\u201d\u2019 by using the \u2018bake and shake\u2019 method. <\/p>\n
However, Omar was given credit for time-served and will be placed on supervised release for three years upon completing his sentence. <\/p>\n
Omar pleaded guilty on May 4, 2018, to conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine where a child was present.<\/p>\n
David Banes represented Omar at the sentencing hearing while assistant U.S. attorney Garth Backe appeared for the federal government.<\/p>\n
According to court documents, The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency was alerted to the conspiracy after several individuals purchased large quantities of cold medicines that contained one of ice\u2019s active ingredient, pseudoephedrine, at local pharmacies.<\/p>\n
The prosecution said Omar and his co-defendants, Vincent David Cabrera Jr., Eugene Blas Repeki Jr., and Sidney Cappele Kani, along with others, conspired to manufacture and distribute the meth.<\/p>\n
The federal court has also sentenced both Cabrera and Repeki to 15 year\u2019 while Kani was sentenced to seven years in prison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
