On Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at about 7:21am, the CNMI Department of Public Safety received\u00a0a\u00a0911\u00a0call\u00a0reporting a burglary and theft incident at The Shack restaurant in San Jose, Saipan. <\/p>\n
At the scene, police met with the owner of the establishment who showed police a shattered window, along with surveillance footage of the suspect breaking into the establishment. After a quick inventory, items reported missing include: $350, about 30 pieces of black T-shirts with the establishment\u2019s name printed on the shirts, and an Android cellphone.<\/p>\n
Later that day, the caller managed to get a ping of the last location of the cellphone, which was located along Ellegh Avenue in San Jose. Police drove over to the area but did not see any individual using a cellphone.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, police were conducting routine patrol through San Jose when they noticed an individual exit the Friendly Market store and get into a vehicle wearing a T-shirt that matched the description from a recent case. Police followed the vehicle to a San Jose motel where the operator exited the vehicle along with a female passenger. Both individuals were wearing the same print design T-shirts. Police got down and interviewed the two, who told them that Dionisio Jr. Angui Ray had given them the shirts. Police were able to procure a total of 11 black printed T-shirts and a cellphone that matched the description. Upon further investigation, Dionisio Jr. Angui Ray and Manex Nimwes were both arrested in connection with the burglary and theft case.<\/p>\n
On Sept. 17, 2020, Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio issued a Rule-5 for both individuals with bail set at $10,000 each. Both were served while detained in DOC.<\/p>\n
