\"Joe\u00a0 Joe Sablan beat a field of 61 golfers to win the top prize in Grace Christian Academy’s fundraiser golf tournament at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Sablan marked a 39 on the front nine and finished the backside with a 37 for a gross tally of 76 that calculated to a field low net score of 67.6. He won a $300 cash prize.<\/p>\n

Kim Min Gyu took runner-up honors, while Ralph Yumul edged J.J. Cabrera for third place via tiebreaker; Gyu received $200 and Yumul $100.<\/p>\n

Gyu scratched a 37 on the front leg with a 38 on the back nine for a field-low raw score of 75 that worked into an even net total of 69.<\/p>\n

Yumul took a 42 on the front and a 44 after the turn for a gross count of 86 that adjusted into a 70.4 net tally.<\/p>\n

Cabrera started out with a 47 and came into the clubhouse with a 45 for a raw total of 92 that tied Yumul’s net score, however the latter’s lesser handicap gave him the nod.<\/p>\n

In addition, Roy Ada won closest to the pin honors on hole No. 7 and Manny Paul took the prize for hole No. 14. Both golfers were awarded cell phones from IT&E.<\/p>\n

Other various consolation prizes were also given away such as golf balls, golf tees, and other equipment.<\/p>\n

The event utilized a double-Peoria scoring system to determine each golfer’s net scores.<\/p>\n

Proceeds of the event went to help 10 GCA students to go on their senior trip to Guam in April.<\/p>\n

The students would like to thank all of the golfers for coming out, especially the X-clusive Golfer’s Association, for helping organizing the event. The group also expressed it utmost appreciation to all of the volunteers who helped the event run smoothly as well as to IT&E for the prizes and Pacific Trading Co. for providing drinks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
