With the flu season coming to full swing, 2019 Miss Marianas Shannon Sasasmoto reminds our community to continue to wear masks in public and follow social guidelines to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

As a volunteer for the \u201cThe Guardian Mask Project,\u201d initiated by the Office of House Representative Sheila Babauta in April, Sasamoto sewed over 200 masks and donated to the initiative.<\/p>\n

The young queen also practices the proper social guidelines and wears masks that cover both nose and mouth when out in the public to ensure her safety and the safety of others.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must not let our guard down by continuing to adjust to this temporary norm of life. Our vigilance and cooperation continue to be important as we all work toward recovery, especially that possible infection spikes are being expected during flu season,\u201d said Sasamoto. \u201cIt is our social and moral responsibility to use masks as well as properly wear them, frequently wash our hands, and practice social distancing to protect ourselves and those around us.\u201d<\/p>\n
