An unknown adult male broke into Guam Animals in Need at 1am last Oct. 6, 2020, stealing $1,000 worth of cash and animal shelter equipment. GAIN is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.<\/p>\n

Based on information provided by the Guam Police Department, a number of vehicles were congregating in the GAIN parking lot\u00a0following complaints of drag racing Friday night. These vehicles were present at the same time the thief broke into the shelter. Among the vehicles caught on camera were two dark colored low-rider trucks, a new white SUV, and an older dark sedan.<\/p>\n

The thief was also caught on camera, and GAIN is sharing photos and video\u00a0in an effort to identify him. He is a\u00a0heavyset adult male of average height with a beard.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you know someone who was drag racing in Yigo\u00a0Friday night and into Saturday morning, please show them this photo. They can collect the $1,000 reward while remaining anonymous to the public,\u00bb said Cyrus Luhr, GAIN board president.\u00a0An anonymous donor is providing the reward.<\/p>\n

Among the items stolen was a microchip scanner used by the animal shelter to reunite lost pets with their owners.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis really hurts us. With the pandemic, we\u2019re already struggling to handle an increase in cases\u00a0with fewer resources,\u201d said Luhr. GAIN notes that, thankfully, no animals on were injured during the burglary.<\/p>\n
