Ralph DLG Torres renewed Tuesday Executive Order 2020-04, as amended, declaring a State of Public Health Emergency and State of Significant Emergency for the entire CNMI due to threat posed by COVID-19. <\/p>\n<p>Torres also renewed Executive Order 2020-07, which ordered the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Office, through the CNMI COVID-19 Task Force, and in partnership with the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., to undertake necessary COVID-19 containment measures by means of developing emergency directives to protect the health and safety of the public. <\/p>\n<p>Torres first issued Executive Order 2020-04 last March 16, declaring a State of Public Health Emergency and a continued Declaration of a State of Significant Emergency, establishing response, quarantine, and preventive measures concerning COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>He first issued Executive Order 2020-07 last April 16.<\/p>\n<p>Torres said executive orders 2020-04 and 07 will take effect immediately and remain in effect for 30 days from Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>Since the first instance when a person was confirmed positive for COVID-19 infection last March 28, a total of 77 individuals have so far been confirmed positive and, of those individuals, two have died.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
