Currently, there are no tsunami warnings or advisories issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 670-237-8000. (PR)<\/p>\n<p>4.9-magnitude quake in Marianas region<\/p>\n<p>At 8:41am on Oct. 22, 2020, a report of a 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred at\u00a018.815\u00b0N 147.251\u00b0E in the Mariana Islands region. Currently, there are no tsunami warnings or advisories that were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 237-8000. (PR)<\/p>\n<p>Scheduled water service interruption today<\/p>\n<p>There will be a scheduled water service interruption today, Oct. 23, 2020, from 8am to 4pm for the entire Kagman, Papago, San Vicente, Upper Dandan and Obyan areas. This will allow the contractor of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp., Hong Ye Construction, to cut and cap the existing 4-inch PVC pipe that connects the KG-131 well and the transmission line to Kagman I for a more reliable water system. Project will take place in the corner of Chacha Road, Kagman. Restoration of water service will resume soon after. This work is part of CUC\u2019s Kagman Waterline and Booster Rehabilitation Replacement Project funded by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of the Interior. For the safety of the men and women at the jobsite, CUC advises the general public to exercise caution or take alternative routes when traveling through the area. (PR)<\/p>\n<p>Drivers written testing center closed half-day today and all day on Monday<\/p>\n<p>Today, Oct. 23, 2020, the drivers written testing center will be closed from\u00a07:30am through 12:30pm\u00a0for staff training and will resume services at 1pm. It will be closed\u00a0all day\u00a0on\u00a0Monday, Oct. 26, 2020,\u00a0for continued training and certification. Drivers written testing will resume the following day on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020, at 7:30am. All other services, including on-road driving tests, vehicle registration, boat registration, and driver\u2019s license renewal\u00a0are not affected. If you want to write a novel, or any other book, there\u2019s nothing like a deadline to help you get it done. Writers age 13 and older can join the worldwide online group at www.nanowrimo.org. Writers under age 13 can join the Young Writers Program at http:\/\/ywp.nanowrimo.org. There is no charge to join. But writing must wait until Nov. 1, when the fun starts.
