{"id":332277,"date":"2020-10-27T06:02:20","date_gmt":"2020-10-26T20:02:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=332277"},"modified":"2020-10-27T06:02:20","modified_gmt":"2020-10-26T20:02:20","slug":"4-more-covid-19-cases-in-nmi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/4-more-covid-19-cases-in-nmi\/","title":{"rendered":"4 more COVID-19 cases in NMI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four more newly-arrived travelers have tested positive for COVID-19, raising the CNMI\u2019s cumulative number of cases to 92.<\/p>\n<p>The latest positive cases were identified by travel screening and had their diagnosis confirmed via the standard fifth day of testing after arrival, according to a Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. statement.<\/p>\n<p>The individuals have already been safely in quarantine and were moved to the designated isolation area at Kanoa Resort for monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>CHCC has already initiated contact tracing for the most immediate contacts of the new confirmed cases, including passengers on the same flight.<\/p>\n<p>The CHCC statement said that 12 people are currently in isolation and 78 others have been released after consultation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. <\/p>\n<p>Separately, Governor\u2019s Authorized Representative Patrick Guerrero said at the media briefing last Oct. 22 that they haven\u2019t been purchasing a lot of personal protective equipment since May when they took advantage of ordering in bulk, and that the CNMI has enough PPE\u2019s for the next three to six months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVID-19 on Guam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Guam has had two more COVID-19 deaths over the weekend, raising Guam\u2019s cumulative total of COVID-19-related fatalities to 72.<\/p>\n<p>Guam\u2019s Joint Information Center was notified that Guam\u2019s 71st COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City at approximately 2:07pm last Oct. 24. The patient was a 67-year-old male with underlying health conditions that were compounded by COVID-19. He was admitted to GRMC on Oct. 24 and tested positive upon admission.<\/p>\n<p>Guam\u2019s 72nd COVID-19-related fatality occurred yesterday at the GRMC at approximately 10:25pm.
