{"id":333018,"date":"2020-11-06T06:02:16","date_gmt":"2020-11-05T20:02:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=333018"},"modified":"2020-11-06T06:02:16","modified_gmt":"2020-11-05T20:02:16","slug":"nmis-covid-19-total-now-at-98","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/nmis-covid-19-total-now-at-98\/","title":{"rendered":"NMI\u2019s COVID-19 total now at 98"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another day and two more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19, raising the CNMI\u2019s total number of cases to 98.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. statement yesterday, the two new cases were identified through travel screenings and confirmed positive through testing upon arrival and on their fifth day of testing.<\/p>\n<p>The individuals have been transported to the quarantine facility, the Alternate Care Site at Kanoa Resort in Susupe, which is also the designated isolation area where CHCC staff will keep a close eye on infected individuals.<\/p>\n<p>CHCC has already conducted the initial contact tracing for the most immediate contacts of the two new cases, including passengers on the same flight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVID-19 in Guam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 death toll I Guam has now reached 85.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Joint Information Center, Guam\u2019s 80th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at Guam Memorial Hospital at approximately 9:40pm last Tuesday, Nov. 3. The patient was a 63-year-old male with underlying health conditions that were compounded by COVID-19. Additionally, he was a known COVID-19 case and was previously admitted to the U.S. Naval Hospital Guam.<\/p>\n<p>JIC was then notified that Guam\u2019s 81st COVID-19-related fatality occurred at approximately 11:18am last Wednesday, Nov. 4. The patient was a 49-year-old male with underlying health conditions that were further compounded by COVID-19. He was admitted to the Guam Memorial Hospital on Oct. 9 and was a known COVID-19 case. Later that same day, Guam\u2019s 82nd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at approximately 4:06pm. The patient was a 55-year-old male with underlying conditions that were further compounded by COVID-19. He was admitted to GMH on Oct. 20 after testing positive at a private clinic earlier that day. That night, at 8:27pm, Guam saw its 83rd COVID-19-related fatality, a 55-year-old male with comorbidities that were further compounded by COVID-19 who died at GMH. He was admitted to GMH on Oct. 20 and tested positive upon admission.<\/p>\n<p>The 84th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at GMH yesterday\u2014an 84-year-old male with underlying conditions that were further compounded by COVID-19. He was pronounced deceased at approximately 12:08am. He was admitted to GMH on Nov. 1 after testing positive upon admission at the Guam Regional Medical City  the day prior.<\/p>\n<p>The 85th COVID-19-related fatality also occurred at GMH at approximately 8:10am yesterday. The patient was a 56-year-old male with underlying conditions. He was admitted to GMH last Oct. 25 and was a known positive case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach of us are soldiers in this fight, and victory requires us all to remain vigilant. We are the front-lines, and I call on the people of Guam to do what is right,\u201d said Guam Gov.
