Ralph DLG Torres said Friday that the Trump administration has helped the CNMI more than he imagined, but that he will ask President-elect Joe Biden to continue helping the Commonwealth if Biden prevails in the lawsuits that the Trump administration has initiated to contest the Nov. 3 election results. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking at radio news briefing, Torres said that if there are some contentions or a lawsuit challenging the election results, then he respects that process.<\/p>\n<p>The governor said that when the time comes and whoever is sworn in as President by January next year, he intends to asks them to continue supporting the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>Torres said that, with the Trump administration, they have had all the assistance and direct communication with President Donald Trump\u2019s Cabinet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that, if Biden succeeds, whatever that lawsuit is, if there is one, then I\u2019ll just ask that he continue to help the CNMI,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n<p>Torres said he wants Biden to, at the very minimum, understand the CNMI\u2019s needs and give all the support that the Commonwealth can get and continue to get.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after media reports declared Biden as the President-elect, Torres sent his and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios\u2019 congratulatory message to Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris, on behalf of the people of the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) earlier stated that he is looking forward to working in the U.S. House of Representatives over the next two years to advance Biden\u2019s and Harris\u2019 agenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
