This venture is in collaboration with the feeding program of YUM! HeartComm initiative, wherein KFC outlets all over the world are given the option to choose their beneficiaries.

According to KFC Saipan store manager Yole Aldan , the goal of this program is to support and recognize the efforts of front-line workers. “We would like to thank them for their bravery, sacrifices, and their unflagging compassion during this challenging time and as they continue to selflessly work around the clock to provide care and protection to our community,” she said. “This feeding program is not only by KFC Saipan but is also done on this very day around the world whenever there are KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut outlets. …This is the second time that we are able to do this. The first was in April when we donated 100 meals. …We appreciate the front-liners as they are the ones doing the hard work and we salute them for their commitment to help everybody,” she added.

Receiving the meals in behalf of the front-liners was Commonwealth Health Corp. CEO Esther Muña. “We thank them because the people of KFC, especially the early part of the outbreak, have always been open and supporting us. …They don’t have to do this but we are really grateful,” she said. “The people from KFC are just as important as we are. …They are also essential workers. …I think KFC was one of the first restaurants on island that established COVID-19 health and safety measures in their restaurant. …I also want them and the community to understand that we do this as part of our job and we were here since the beginning and we will be here until the end.”

The partnership between KFC and YUM! Foundation is known for encouraging fastfood franchises in the U.S. mainland to save extra food and donate them to non-profit organizations.

This is YUM!’s final event of the year and is the world’s largest YUM! cross-brand corporate social responsibility in food delivery.

[4
154
post-334015","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-kfc
["GET
