{"id":334371,"date":"2020-12-02T06:00:43","date_gmt":"2020-12-01T20:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=334371"},"modified":"2020-12-02T06:00:43","modified_gmt":"2020-12-01T20:00:43","slug":"scc-hosts-scholarship-membership-meeting-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/scc-hosts-scholarship-membership-meeting-today\/","title":{"rendered":"SCC hosts \u2018scholarship\u2019 membership meeting today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Chamber of Commerce\u2019s final general membership meeting for 2020 will be held today, Dec. 2, 2020, at the Hyatt Regency Saipan Ballroom. <\/p>\n<p>At the same meeting, 12 students from the Northern Marianas College will be awarded $1,000 each in scholarships. These students aspire to give back to the CNMI community and help alleviate the CNMI\u2019s workforce needs. <\/p>\n<p>The SCC fundraises every year to give $12,000 in scholarships to students from the CNMI to fund their higher education. This year was no different. Despite the hardships of COVID-19, the SCC membership pushed forward to raise these funds. <\/p>\n<p>Also today, the SCC will be announcing the winner of the social media \u201cBuy in the CNMI\u201d campaign, where one lucky winner will receive $500 in gift cards to Chamber member establishments of their choice. SCC will also hear from President\u2019s Circle Member IT&amp;E as well as announce the 2020 Nominees for Business Person of the Year. <\/p>\n<p>A plate lunch will be served at 11:30am and the meeting will begin promptly at noon. The luncheon fee is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members. <\/p>\n<p>Due to COVID-19 protocols, RSVP is required to attend the GMM.
