All certified candidates must file a detailed \u201cCampaign Statement of Account,\u201d as required under 1 CMC \u00a7 6424.<\/p>\n
This itemized financial statement, prepared with the advice and co-signature of the candidate\u2019s treasurer, must show the specific source(s), name(s) of contributor(s), and amount(s) of contributions and expenses. <\/p>\n
The Office of the Public Auditor is mandated to administer the filing of such statements. Failure to file a complete, signed, dated and verified Statement by Dec. 23, 2020, shall subject you to a fine of up to $100 per day for each date the statement is late.<\/p>\n
The \u201cCampaign Statement of Account form, suggested reports, and supporting schedules are available on OPA\u2019s website at www.opacnmi.com or the Commonwealth Election Commission\u2019s website at www.votecnmi.gov.mp. Note that filing of a \u201cCampaign Statement of Account\u201d form is mandatory.<\/p>\n
The act also requires that the statement be verified under oath by the candidate\/political party and the candidate\u2019s\/political party\u2019s treasurer. OPA will provide free notary service to those who wish to avail themselves of this service.
