Ralph DLG Torres said Friday that with the vaccine against COVID-19 now available, the CNMI\u2019s fight against the pandemic is now on its last lap. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a radio news briefing, Torres said the CNMI has been through this COVID-19 for the last 10 months and all work together as a community. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should continue to work on the remaining days and months until we all get this COVID vaccine into our  community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Torres encouraged everyone to take the vaccine and asked those that are anxiously waiting to make sure they register in.<\/p>\n<p>The governor got vaccinated Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>Torres said there are some guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that the Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force is following through. <\/p>\n<p>He said first and foremost will be the nurses, doctors, and the  first responders. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut overall, we encourage all of our community to take advantage of this vaccine,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Torres said he is aware that there are a lot of questions out there, but they have a call center as part of their educational outreach\/campaign program.<\/p>\n<p>The governor said he is personally thanking everyone in the community and to  the departments\/agencies, and business partners for \u201cmaking the system works.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first batch of the Pfizer\/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines arrived  on Saipan last  Thursday. The vaccine shots will be free.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
