{"id":335659,"date":"2020-12-24T06:06:03","date_gmt":"2020-12-23T20:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=335659"},"modified":"2020-12-24T06:06:03","modified_gmt":"2020-12-23T20:06:03","slug":"last-of-three-ice-defendants-is-sentenced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/last-of-three-ice-defendants-is-sentenced\/","title":{"rendered":"Last of three \u2018ice\u2019 defendants is sentenced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S District Court for the NMI has sentenced the last of three defendants involved in smuggling methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d into the CNMI through the U.S Postal Service. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_335660\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-335660\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Ramona-V-Manglona-mug-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-335660\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-335660\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Manglona<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona sentenced Elaine Francisco Demei to five months\u2019 imprisonment. <\/p>\n<p>Demei admitted to picking up a package that contained \u201cice\u201d from California at the U.S Post Office in San Vicente.<\/p>\n<p>Demei will serve her five months sentence in home detention and will be placed on three years of supervised release. Demei was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and pay a $100 assessment fee.<\/p>\n<p>Demei\u2019s co-defendants, Vince Koki Leon Guerrero and Evelyn Chong Tydingco, pled guilty to picking up the package with her that contained over 110 grams of methamphetamine. <\/p>\n<p>Leon Guerrero and Tydingco were each sentenced to 10 years\u2019 imprisonment for organizing the deal and will also be placed on five years\u2019 supervised release after serving their sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Hanson represented Demei, while Steven Pixley represented Leon Guerrero and Robert T. Torres represented Tydingco.
