(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Rollers Red clinched the boys U13 championship in the Rollers 2020 Holiday Tournament after outclassing Rollers Blue in the finals, 38-31, yesterday at the Koblerville Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>Lance Lerio and Mykee Mercado teamed up in handling Rollers Red the division crown after scoring in double figures in title showdown. Lerio delivered 17 points, while Mercado chipped in 11.<\/p>\n<p>Mercado and Lerio each fired 9 points in the first half to put Rollers Red on top, 19-13. Mercado got all his first half baskets from downtown, while Lerio made three field goals and three charities to give Rollers Red a 6-point cushion at the break.<\/p>\n<p>Rollers Blue, despite falling behind, remained in contention after the first half, thanks to Christian Lucero and Franklin Eriich, who combined for 11 points in the opening frame.<\/p>\n<p>In the second half, Lucero was still on target, but Eriich was held to a field goal, bringing down the Rollers Red\u2019s chances to overhaul the deficit.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_335738\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-335738\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/umbrella-pasa-pix-300x175.jpg\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-335738\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rollers Red coach Joe Diaz, second left, poses with his players and their awards after winning the boys U13 division of the Rollers 2020 Holiday Tournament yesterday at the Koblerville Gymnasium. (Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Mercado was also limited to one basket in the second half, but Lerio knocked in four field goals and drew help from Jezpher Navarro and William Xue to keep Rollers Red in the driver\u2019s seat en route to the title win.<\/p>\n<p>Lerio was named Finals MVP, while Mercado took the season MVP and best in assist award. Lucero also bagged two individual awards after topping the rebounds and steals department, while Xue ruled the blocks category.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the boys U17 and U19 championships are still up for grabs, along with the women\u2019s division crown.
