In the fall of 2020, she completed her master\u2019s degree in Sustainable Management from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Over the course of her academic year, she successfully balanced her full-time job as a researcher at the Palau International Coral Reef Center with being a full-time graduate student. She also serves as Palau\u2019s core member to the Micronesia Challenge Socioeconomic measure\u2019s group.<\/p>\n<p>After graduating, Marino will continue to carry her roles as a researcher at PICRC and as a core member of the Micronesia Challenge SEM team. She is passionate about ensuring that Palau does not endanger their pristine environment in exchange for better economic standing and she sees a greater need to integrate sustainable management practices to preserve the environment along with Palau\u2019s cultures and traditions.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship program was inspired by William \u201cBill\u201d Charles Raynor (Feb. 22, 1957-Sept. 1, 2015), one of Micronesia\u2019s lead conservation pioneers.
