TUMON, Guam\u2014The Guam National Guard 721st\u00a0Army Band\u2019s rock ensemble brought holiday cheer to guests at the Dusit Beach Resort COVID-19 quarantine facility in Tumon last Dec. 30 by playing Christmas songs and pop hits from the resort\u2019s courtyard, prompting many guests to dance and applaud from the hotel\u2019s balconies.<\/p>\n

Approximately 400 were present for the concert, which was also available via live stream.\u00a0 Also in attendance was Guam\u2019s governor, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero.<\/p>\n

Since the Guam Guard began assisting the government of Guam with COVID-19 quarantine facilities in May 2020, they have helped accommodate over 60,000 guests.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you, Army Band, for bringing some much-needed holiday cheer to our family and friends here in quarantine. You and your counterparts inside the hotel go over and above our expectations, in your professionalism and service to our people,\u201d said Leon Guerrero. \u00a0\u201cNot only are you helping to keep our island safer from COVID-19, you\u2019re able to do it with such thoughtfulness and hospitality. You truly represent the inafa\u2019maolek spirit of our island and culture.\u201d<\/p>\n
