{"id":336381,"date":"2021-01-08T06:06:30","date_gmt":"2021-01-07T20:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=336381"},"modified":"2021-01-08T06:06:30","modified_gmt":"2021-01-07T20:06:30","slug":"charter-flight-to-aid-stranded-taiwan-citizens-in-guam-nmi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/charter-flight-to-aid-stranded-taiwan-citizens-in-guam-nmi\/","title":{"rendered":"Charter flight to aid stranded  Taiwan citizens in Guam, NMI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Taiwan-bound humanitarian charter flight on Jan. 11 will bring to Taipei approximately 50 passengers who are either in need of medical care or stranded in Guam and on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>In an email from Taiwan&#8217;s representative office in Guam, it said the charter flight\u2019s passengers include Guam residents who are unable to seek off-island medical treatment because of the COVID-19 crisis and the canceled direct flights, plus Taiwan citizens who were working in Guam and Saipan who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic and intend to return to their homeland in Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>Regular flights between Taiwan and Guam were suspended last March 2020.
