Long, who is vice chairperson of the Tinian-based Ohala Foundation, has been admitted to Stanford University\u2019s Class of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>A foundation statement said that Long received the news of his acceptance a week before Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking back and reminiscing about all the late-night studying and after-school extracurriculars that I took part in, I can finally say that it was all worth it,\u201d said Long. \u201cMany people tend to dream and aspire to do great things in the future, and that\u2019s completely fine, but one must not forget that there is a toll to pay to achieve those dreams. My advice is to pay that toll, it\u2019ll be worth it in the end.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ohala Foundation chair Phillip T. Mendiola Long, who is Tasi Long\u2019s father, said, \u201cThe entire Ohala Foundation is immensely proud of Tasi for such an amazing achievement.\u00a0 Many of us knew he had the character and drive to become a Stanford student as we see his work and passion for the foundation every day.\u00a0 As parents, Arley and I couldn\u2019t be more proud of him.\u00a0 Every parent wants their children to have more opportunities and to be better than them in every way. Tasi has definitely shown us he is on a pathway to run circles around us and that makes us smile with pride.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The foundation statement said the entire Ohala Foundation board of directors wishes Tasi Long success in his goals and is proud to have him continue to represent the CNMI and the\u00a0foundation.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>This wasn\u2019t Tasi Long\u2019s first contact with Stanford. According to the foundation statement, he wrote to Stanford in 2010, when was just 9 years old, and told them he was going to Stanford when he graduates from high school. \u201cStanford actually wrote him back a month later letting him know that they look forward to his application in 2020 and they included a mini Stanford pennant from the school,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>According to the online site College Transitions, Stanford University, with its 4.3% acceptance rate, \u201cis even more selective than MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, or Columbia.\u201d <strong>(PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tasi G.
