Temporary closure of AMP Court of Honor<\/strong>
\nThe American Memorial Park management would like to inform the public that the Court of Honor will be closed to the public for several weeks.\u00a0\u00a0Construction is underway at the memorial to replace flag poles damaged during Super Typhoon Yutu.\u00a0\u00a0After the new poles are installed, the park looks forward to once again flying the flags of the Navy, Marines, Army and Coast Guard\u2014honoring all those who fought bravely on these island shores and surrounding seas during World War II.\u00a0(NPS)<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 from Saipan graduate from Concordia U <\/strong>
\nKimberly Babauta and Isaac Tenorio, both from Saipan, have earned their Master of Education degrees at Concordia University in Nebraska. Public warned of beach hazards<\/strong>
\nThe public is being warned of a high risk of rip currents and Indo-Pacific men-o-war jellyfish through 6am today, Monday.<\/p>\n

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Guam and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, Indo-Pacific man-o-war will be present along northeast, east and southeast facing beaches, while dangerous rip currents will be present along east facing reefs. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Contact with man-o-war, alive or dead, can cause extreme pain. <\/p>\n

The public is being warned to avoid venturing out along east facing reefs. Strong rip currents will be life threatening. Swimmers should remain out of the water. (PR)<\/p>\n

\nHAGATNA, Guam<\/strong>\u2014The Department of Revenue & Taxation has processed and\u00a0the Department of Administration will mail\u00a01,391\u00a02019\u00a0tax refund checks this week.<\/p>\n

The checks total approximately $3,194,124,\u00a0including refunds garnished to repay government debts, for error-free returns filed on or before\u00a0July 11, 2020.<\/p>\n
