(NEIL FAMA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Das Krishnan, Fiesta Resort &amp; Spa Saipan\u2019s Food &amp; Beverage director, is the 2020 Rotarian of the Year for the Rotary Club of Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Krishnan was first named Rotarian of the Year for 2020 last June 30, 2020, when the club inducted its new officers and was honored again with the recognition yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Krishnan, it was double past president and charter member David \u201cUncle Dave\u201d M. Sablan who inspired him to join the club. \u201cI took his advice and I joined and Uncle Dave was [my] sponsor,\u201d said Krishnan.<\/p>\n<p>When asked how he manages to be involved in the community while managing the F&amp;B department of the Fiesta Resort, Krishnan said his passion for working with people is what makes him find the time to do what he does.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI relax and I meet a lot of people. I try to do things that are comfortable for me,\u201d said Krishnan, adding that he enjoys doing anything that allows him to participate in activities that involve interaction.<\/p>\n<p>According to Krishnan, he was assigned during his first year with the Rotary Club of Saipan as director of the Rotary Foundation, which meant he led the Paul Harris recognition and Rotary Club\u2019s golf tournament. The Paul Harris recognition is for individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Krishnan assured that he still has a lot of energy that makes him want to keep participating in community events for the club until he \u201cruns out of energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cRotarian of the Year\u201d is a member who exhibits \u201cService Above Self\u201d in their daily activities and who promotes Rotary by their actions and involvements.
