Kriegel brings over 20 years of valuable industry experience to his new role, having recently led Vodafone Group\u2019s Partner Markets business and Business Development in Asia.<br \/>\nKriegel replaces Jay Shedd, who has served as DOCOMO Pacific\u2019s CEO since 2008. \u201cI made a commitment to NTT Docomo to remain as the head of Docomo Pacific throughout the merger and integration of the two great companies. Now that the merger is complete, I will be taking time to pursue other opportunities,\u201d said Shedd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank Jay Shedd for his leadership and contributing to our business development over the past six years and I wish him the best,\u201d said Yasuhrio Suzuki, executive director, Global Business Division of NTT Docomo Inc. \u201cVodafone has been a long time partner of NTT Docomo and we have worked closely with Mr. Kriegel for several years. We feel fortunate to welcome such an outstanding leader to Docomo Pacific.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe welcome Jonathan Kriegel\u2019s experience and leadership to the DOCOMO Pacific family,\u201d said DOCOMO Pacific\u2019s chief marketing officer Thomas Higa. \u201cIn his new role as [CEO], he will be responsible for strengthening our integrated services and products through strategic management of our mobile operations and the high-speed, large-volume fiber optic network that DOCOMO acquired last year. We will take advantage of Mr. Kriegel\u2019s expertise in all aspects of telecommunications to continue to offer innovative products and services and to deliver best-in-class customer service in both Guam and the CNMI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kriegel said, \u201cI am excited to join DOCOMO Pacific, and I look forward to working with the talented management team and staff who made the company Guam\u2019s leading telecommunications provider. I plan to continue improving the quality of the network, enhancing customer service and expanding the range of products available to our customers from DOCOMO Pacific\u2019s unique bundle of services including mobile, cable television, Internet, and home phone. We will continue to build on innovative solutions like the FUSION plans by working closely with NTT DOCOMO and our partners to bring our customers the most exciting products and services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kriegel\u2019s previous roles at Vodafone include managing its strategic alliances with China Mobile and NTT DOCOMO, Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Corporate Governance. He also served First Pacific Co. as chief operating officer (Mobile) and managing director (Paging) in Indonesia, and earlier as deputy group treasurer in Hong Kong. Kriegel brings strong experience working with mobile network operators across Asia to improve their operating and financial performance. He began his career as a retail banker in San Francisco, California.
