The place turns into a haven for people that want to find time to be able to do work, read, study, and catch up with friends while they get their clothes clean, dry, and ready for use.

According to White Laundry manager Sean Lee, aside from being one of the most inexpensive laundromats on island—top load is 75 cents, Dexter machine small is only $1, and the bigger ones is $2 per load, they also have a large space during this era of COVID-19. “Our customers enjoy the spacious hallways and areas at White Laundry…we have tables and benches where people can sit down to enjoy snacks, read, or work…the space also helps customers to maintain social distancing… other laundromats can be tight where the tendency is to bump with other people when you try to load, take out, or fold laundry,” he said.

“We used to have a waiting room with AC, television, and a bench but we closed it last year due to COVID-19 concerns… We also have full-size carts that they can use to carry their laundry baskets from the car then to the machine or from one machine to another machine… we offer Wi-Fi and it is accessible because we freely give the password to customers…CCTV cameras are in place so customers feel secured… White Laundry is a place where you can do laundry and many more,” he added.

White Laundry is spacious so people can move more easily.

Upon entry, the “feel of clean” will hit you right away with the white walls, polished floors, and organized rows of washers and dryers. “When we opened in November 2019, my boss was considering to call the shop different names but he wanted to keep the idea of being the cleanest laundromat on island. The name White Laundry came about because white is usually associated with things that are clean,” Lee said.

“Our everyday goal is to maintain the cleanest environment and we take pride in that… Our boss is keen in keeping not only visible areas clean but also the our restrooms—one for men and two for women…we make it a point that the restrooms are clean because it’s a good indication that other areas in the laundromat are the same,” Lee added.

To date, White Laundry has a total of 100 washing and drying machines. They also accept drop-offs. “The laundromat is still in the process of picking up business. It has been over a year since we opened and we are working hard to get more customers, maintain the ones that frequent White Laundry and not lose any existing customers… We started as a high-end laundromat but when COVID-19 hit many were losing their jobs, furloughed. etc. so we lowered down prices to help the community,” Lee said.

“When customers come to White Laundry, they tell us how amazed they are on how big the place is and how doing laundry here is budget-friendly. Those are comments that we want to hear and keep. We do not plan to have any price change in the future. We would like to maintain the quality of our services as much as possible,” Lee added.

White Laundry is open Monday-Sunday from 6am to 9pm.
