Ralph DLG Torres disclosed in a radio news briefing last Friday that the CNMI has received $94 million from the federal government for different projects. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of projects moving forward,\u201d said Torres.<\/p>\n<p>He said they received $12 million for the governor\u2019s Emergency Education Relief Fund 2. Torres said he had already written to the Northern Marianas College, which will get $12 million. <\/p>\n<p>Torres said the Public School System also received $61 million to assist with personnel costs but also to purchase equipment and materials in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>He believes PSS got between $22 million and $23 million last year. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis time around they got $61 million, which is excellent,\u201d said Torres, adding that they met PSS early last week. <\/p>\n<p>He said the CNMI also received $10 million in housing rental assistance. \u201cHopefully that will be rolling out very soon,\u201d the governor said.<\/p>\n<p>Torres said the $11 million the CNMI got from the U.S. Economic Development Administration will be used to fix the damaged roads caused by Super Typhoon Yutu in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo there\u2019s a lot of funds coming in, and we\u2019re maximizing as much as we can in expediting the expenditures and getting our projects moving forward,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n<p>Torres said they will be working on getting federal funds to assist private partners as well.  \u201cSo that will be forthcoming,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
