With the clean beach, it will be a place for family gatherings and getting some good exercise. Walking on the beach is better than walking on paved roads, as the sand makes it a little more challenging to move and burns more calories,” he added.

Saturnino “Atoy” Banting, Lions Club first vice district governor, said he is grateful to the members who are always there to help the community.

Lions Region 2 chair Alfredo Cabael thanked all the volunteers that helped make Saturday’s cleanup successful and safe. “Special thanks to Max Aguon and Akiki Alexander who help in hauling and disposing of trash to the sanitary landfill,” said Cabael.

According to Mayuga, the Region 2 Lions has eight clubs that consist of the Saipan Fil-American Lions Club, the Saipan Unity Lions Club, the Saipan Marianas Lions Club, the Saipan Alliance Lions Club, the Saipan Natibu Lions Club, the Saipan Centennial Lions Club, the Saipan Pacific Lions Club, and the Saipan Fitbeat Lions Club.

Mayuga encourages anyone who has a passion for serving the community to contact the Lions Club if they are interested.
