The COVID-19 vaccination schedule has changed, effective Feb. 8, and part of those changes is that the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. will no longer be administering the first vaccine doses on the weekends.<\/p>\n
Vaccination hours have been extended from 8am to 6pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8am to 3pm on Friday. The previous vaccination times ended at 4pm Monday through Friday and 8am-4pm on Saturday and 9am-1pm on Sunday. <\/p>\n
CHCC chief executive officer Esther Mu\u00f1a said the extended hours will provide a flexible schedule that will help those who need to work around their job. \u201cBy extending the hours, we are also making sure that individuals that want to get vaccinated, that it is their turn, that they can come a certain time. \u2026We are also focusing on essential workers, and we want to make sure they have the ability, or the option, to come at a later time outside their working time,\u201d said Mu\u00f1a.<\/p>\n
She also said that CHCC will no longer be administering the COVID-19 vaccination over the weekend, unless they are due for their second dose. The COVID-19 vaccines are a two-shot regimen, with the second shot administered at either 21 days (Pfixer vaccine) or 28 days (Moderna) after the first shot.<\/p>\n
As for CNMI-Only Transitional Workers and government workers who wish to get vaccinated, Mu\u00f1a said they must provide their identification card and employee tag\/paycheck stub to show CHCC who they work for. <\/p>\n
Foreign workers whose visas have expired have to wait until the phases have expanded to the public. \u201cBecause we\u2019re prioritizing essential infrastructure employees now, we need an ID and proof they work for that infrastructure. Now if their visas have expired, we\u2019re not opening that group yet,\u201d said Mu\u00f1a, adding that if they are 55 years old and older, they will fall into the general population and only an ID will be OK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
