{"id":339323,"date":"2021-03-01T06:04:10","date_gmt":"2021-02-28T20:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=339323"},"modified":"2021-03-01T06:04:10","modified_gmt":"2021-02-28T20:04:10","slug":"chavez-tops-6th-saipan-aquathlon-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/chavez-tops-6th-saipan-aquathlon-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Chavez tops 6th Saipan Aquathlon again"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_339331\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-339331\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/TRAC-pix-Chavez-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-339331\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-339331\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chavez<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Andrei Kaithlyn Chavez came out on top in the female division of the aquathlon portion in the 6th Saipan Aquathlon and 10K Run held last Saturday at the PauPau Beach in Marpi. <\/p>\n<p>Mount Carmel School\u2019s Chavez, who is no stranger to the run-swim-run portion of the event, dashed through the course and finished first in the women\u2019s division of the aquathlon\u2014a combination of swim and a run race\u2014with an impressive finishing time of 1:07:53. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s Chavez\u2019s second victory in the aquathlon after also topping the same event with a time of 51:34 in 2018. <\/p>\n<p>Coming at a close second was Denise Meyers, finishing the course just a minute behind Chavez with a time of 1:08:31. Meyers was closely followed by Kerri Baur who completed the Top 3 after coming in at 1:09:44. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_339333\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-339333\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/TRAC-pix-KUroda-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-339333\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-339333\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kuroda<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the male division of the aquathlon, Shuji Kuroda was the first to complete the course submitting a time of 56:19. Kuroda sped through the event and completed the course with the fastest time. <\/p>\n<p>Trailing close behind was Isaiah Aleksenko who finished less than a minute after Kuroda at 57:22. Rounding up the Top 3 in the male division of the aquathlon was Whitney Altizer who finished at 1:00:37. <\/p>\n<p>The 6th Saipan Aquathlon and 10K Run is the Triathlon Association of the CNMI\u2019s first event for the 2021 season. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_339327\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-339327\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/TRAC-pix-300x169.jpg\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-339327\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Runners begin the course in the 6th Saipan Aquathlon and 10K Run last Saturday at PauPau Beach, Marpi.
