The Commonwealth Casino Commission board has denied CEC executive director Andrew Yeom\u2019s recommendation to grant a temporary license to Ray N. Yumul to serve as chief executive officer of the Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC. <\/p>\n
In response to Saipan Tribune\u2019s inquiry about Yumul\u2019s CEO position, Yeom said yesterday that the CCC board denied his (Yeom\u2019s) recommendation to give a 90-day temporary license to Yumul as IPI\u2019s CEO because the applicable fee is not paid in full.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, the application is considered not submitted in full until the payment is made in full,\u201d Yeom said.<\/p>\n
At CCC board\u2019s regular monthly meeting last Wednesday, Yeom reminded the board that they will be talking about a \u201ctemporary license\u201d and not the conventional \u201cprovisional key employee license\u201d since Yumul does not come from a gaming background. The requirement to be considered a \u201ckey employee\u201d is for one to be licensed as a casino key employee in the CNMI or any other U.S. jurisdictions in the last five years. <\/p>\n
The executive director said if acknowledged and approved by the board, the temporary licensure is good for 90 days with a possible extension of an additional 90 days. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat may work out well in terms of timing in that it allows us just enough time to vet for this regular license while Mr. Yumul has the legal status to carry on his duty until such time an official decision on his regular CKE licensure is rendered by the commission,\u201d Yeom said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
