The CNMI received the 400 doses of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine yesterday, according to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.<\/p>\n
According to a CHCC Facebook post, it said the vaccine is for Saipan residents who are 65 years and older and will be administered at the Medical Care and Treatment Site at the back of the Commonwealth Health Center on Navy Hill.<\/p>\n
CHCC chief executive officer Esther Mu\u00f1a said in the Facebook post that the 400 doses will allow CHCC to advertise the vaccine to draw in the man\u2019amko so that they can call and CHCC will be able to arrange when they will start administering the doses.<\/p>\n
Mu\u00f1a said that the process of getting the vaccine will be the same as getting the Pfizer\/BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, although, unlike these two vaccines that require two inoculations, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be administered just once. <\/p>\n
COVID-19 in Guam<\/strong><\/p>\n Four new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of\u00a0313\u00a0tests performed last March 9, according to the Joint Information Center on Guam.\u00a0One case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine.<\/p>\n To date, there have been a total of\u00a07,756 cases of COVID-19 in Guam, with\u00a0133\u00a0deaths,\u00a023\u00a0cases in active isolation, and\u00a07,600\u00a0not in active isolation.<\/p>\n As for vaccinations, JIC said that mass vaccinations will continue through March 13, from 10am to 5:30pm.
