(MARK RABAGO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ocean Star Restaurant has tapped into the early bird market by offering breakfast starting last Saturday, March 20.<\/p>\n<p>Owner Cindy Zhang said the Garapan resto-pub\u2019s breakfast menu is categorized into five\u2014congee (served with toast), scrambled egg (served with toast bread or fried rice for an additional $2), omelets (served with toast bread or fried rice for an additional $2), Ocean Star\u2019s Breakfast (served with two eggs any style, bread or fried rice for an additional $2), and Filipino Breakfast (served with two eggs any style and garlic rice for an additional $2)\u2014and range in price from $8.50 to $9.50.<\/p>\n<p>Ocean Star Restaurant\u2019s breakfast also has side orders of pancakes, toasted wheat bread\/white bread, and toasted bagel and drinks, like refillable hot coffee, tea, chocolate milk, and soy milk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to tap into the breakfast market by opening at this early morning hour. Aside from serving the local market who love to get up early for breakfast, we also hope that by opening for breakfast we would be able to give our loyal and hardworking employees more hours to make a living,\u201d said Zhang.<\/p>\n<p>Ocean Star Restaurant\u2019s breakfast starts at 6am and closes at 10:30am. In its first few days of offering its breakfast menu, customers seem to like its shrimp and cheese omelets, link and Italian sausages, and beefsilog and longsilog meals.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_340680\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-340680\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Ocean-Star-pix-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-340680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Ocean-Star-pix-2-1024x531.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"498\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-340680\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ocean Star Restaurant\u2019s shrimp and cheese omelets with whole wheat toast, coffee, and soy milk. (MARK RABAGO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Zhang said the economy couldn\u2019t get any worse because of the current COVID-19 pandemic so she\u2019s expanding by offering breakfast. \u201cSo by the time the tourism industry is revived and the economy humming again, Ocean Star Restaurant would be uniquely positioned to take advantage of the great opportunities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Like its lunch and dinner menus, Ocean Star Restaurant\u2019s breakfast fare is 10% off for local customers. Those who want to sing can also use their private room with a state-of-the-art karaoke machine that can make a Frank Sinatra and Celine Dion out of anyone.<\/p>\n<p>Ocean Star Restaurant, which opened last Dec. 25 and offers an unobstructed view of Saipan\u2019s magnificent casino hotel and offers a dual menu of Chinese and Filipino dishes, can comfortably sit 42 customers. It continues to adhere to the Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force\u2019s guidelines, as social distancing measures, the use of face masks and hand sanitizers, directional arrows, temperature checks, and customer check-in are fully enforced.<\/p>\n<p>Ocean Star Restaurant is on the same building where Cha Caf\u00e9 &amp; Bistro is located.
