The cluster of positive COVID-19 cases that became the CNMI\u2019s first cases of community transmissions after 200-plus days has been released from the quarantine.<\/p>\n
Governor\u2019s COVID-19 Task Force chair Warren Villagomez said yesterday that the familial cluster went through the 14-day mandatory quarantine period. They were also closely monitored by health care providers. <\/p>\n
Villagomez said a \u201ccommunity cluster\u201d is a group of \u201cclose knit family,\u201d which is why they prefer the term \u201cfamilial cluster.\u201d The familial cluster, according to Villagomez, was composed of 99 people in all who were identified by the contact tracing team as having had contact with the first positive cases. All in all, only 11 of these 99 tested positive for COVID-19<\/p>\n
\u201cBut again, we are keeping all our team on high alert, making sure that enforcements are being done in the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Villagomez encouraged businesses and the community to keep practicing the three W\u2019s, which are wearing masks, washing hand, and waiting at a distance.<\/p>\n
As for the community-based testing, Villagomez was not able to clarify the schedule for CBT because they\u2019re still in the process of finalizing the schedule, but testing on arrival and on the fifth day are still ongoing. <\/p>\n
According to Villagomez, the CNMI is now getting four flights every week from Guam to Saipan via United Airlines. The four days are Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.<\/p>\n
Villagomez earlier said they are working to make sure that passengers on any additional United Airlines flight would be accommodated at quarantine sites.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
