{"id":343363,"date":"2021-05-03T06:00:10","date_gmt":"2021-05-02T20:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=343363"},"modified":"2021-05-03T06:00:10","modified_gmt":"2021-05-02T20:00:10","slug":"tinian-son-is-named-fapac-awardee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/tinian-son-is-named-fapac-awardee\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinian son is named FAPAC awardee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tinian-born Chief Petty Officer Richard Hofschneider of the U.S. Coast Guard has been named one of the recipients of the 2021 Federal Asian Pacific American Council awards. <\/p>\n<p>Hofschneider has been on active duty since he graduated from high school in 2000 and is currently stationed in Guam. He is also known to many as the leader of the local band Pacific Cool.<\/p>\n<p>The son of the late Henry U. Hofschneider (Ku\u00f1ados Tinian) and Ana Maria B. Hofschneider, he is married to Marjorie DelaCruz-Hofschneider and they have two children.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The FAPAC awards include the Uniformed Services, Civilian, and Distinguished Public Service Scholarship Awards. These awards recognize civilians and military service members who have made significant contributions to the advancement and promotion of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The presenting group, FAPAC, is the\u00a0premier organization representing Asian American and Pacific Islander employees in the federal and District of Columbia governments.<\/p>\n<p>The awards will be presented at the\u00a036th\u00a0National Leadership Training Program\u00a0to be held virtually on May 26 and May 27, 2021.
