{"id":343595,"date":"2021-05-06T06:00:17","date_gmt":"2021-05-05T20:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=343595"},"modified":"2021-05-06T06:00:17","modified_gmt":"2021-05-05T20:00:17","slug":"public-warned-of-rip-currents-until-tonight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/public-warned-of-rip-currents-until-tonight\/","title":{"rendered":"Public warned of rip currents until tonight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is a high risk of rip currents on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota along east facing reefs through Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, life-threatening rip currents will be present in east facing reefs of the Marianas until tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Residents of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota are advised to swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don\u2019t swim against the current.
