Esmores)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Saipan International School topped the girls elementary division of the 2021 PSS\/McDonald\u2019s All Schools Athletics Championships that concluded last weekend. <\/p>\n<p>SIS came out on top with a combined total score of 229 for the 9U and 12U girls division followed by Kagman Elementary School who finished with a total of 85 points. Completing the Top 3 was Tinian Elementary School who accumulated a total of 78 points. <\/p>\n<p>Sister duo Beatrice and Windsor Gross led the way for SIS\u2019 girls 9U team after topping a total of five championship events together. <\/p>\n<p>Beatrice Gross dominated the long jump, the 200m event, and the 100m event, while her sister Windsor prevailed in the 1,500m race and the 400m event. Also contributing to the team\u2019s victory was their schoolmate Neveah Arriola, which topped the 60m race. <\/p>\n<p>In the long jump, Beatrice\u2019s distance of 3.40m gained her a gold medal followed by Alina Esakova from Oleai Elementary School who submitted distance of 3.29m. Completing the Top 3 for the event was SIS\u2019 Leilani Ruszala who recorded a distance of 2.83m. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_344048\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-344048\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/SIS-pix-2-300x200.jpg\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-344048\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Beatrice Gross topped three of eight events in the girls 9U division of the annual 2021 PSS\/McDonald\u2019s All Schools Athletics Championships that concluded last weekend. (Kimberly B. Esmores)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Beatrice later won the 200m after finishing at 34:84 to earn her another gold medal. Brilliant Star School\u2019s Scarlett Burrell earned a silver medal after completing the race in 38:59 followed closely by third place winner Lucy Woo from SIS at 38:81. <\/p>\n<p>Finally, Beatrice earned herself another gold medal in the 100m race after completing the course in 16:67. Taking home the silver medal was Alina Esakova who recorded a time of 17:52. Fellow Lady Turtle Elena Teigita was awarded the bronze medal after coming in at 17:85. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Windsor succeeded in the 1,500m with a time of 7:14 to earn a gold medal, followed by Leilani Ruszala who took the silver medal after recording a time of 7:23. Rounding up the Top 3 was Allie Brasuell of Saipan Community School who came in at 7:24 to earn the bronze medal. <\/p>\n<p>Windsor also took home the gold in the 400m event after submitting a time of 1:29. Closely tailing her was Scarlett Burrell who finished the race at 1:34. Coming in at third place to earn her the bronze was Allie Brasuell who came in at 1:39. <\/p>\n<p>Arriola also won a gold medal and contributed to SIS\u2019 total score after besting foes in the 60m event with a time of 11:18. SCS\u2019 Maria Haberman earned the silver medal with a time of 11:43, followed by Yummy Peng from SIS who recorded a time of 11:56. <\/p>\n<p>Also topping an event last weekend was Ka\u2019isa San Nicolas from Tinian who prevailed in the softball throw with a distance of 26.25m. Alina Esakova came in second with a distance of 20.4m, followed by Beatrice Gross who recorded a distance of 20.1m. <\/p>\n<p>SCS\u2019 Allie Brasuell took to the gold in the 800m event with a time of 3:33. Her runner-up, Lucy Woo, came a few seconds later with a time of 3:41 to earn the silver medal.
