{"id":344490,"date":"2021-05-19T06:05:44","date_gmt":"2021-05-18T20:05:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=344490"},"modified":"2021-05-19T06:05:44","modified_gmt":"2021-05-18T20:05:44","slug":"king-hinds-mulls-running-for-delegate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/king-hinds-mulls-running-for-delegate\/","title":{"rendered":"King-Hinds mulls running for delegate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commonwealth Ports Authority board chair Kimberlyn King-Hinds said yesterday that she is willing to consider running for the position of the U.S. delegate in next year\u2019s elections. <\/p>\n<p>When asked about a poster with her photo and name with message \u201cfor U.S. Congress\u201d circulating on social media, King-Hinds admitted that she saw it too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy phone is blowing up,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The CPA chairwoman acknowledged she is indeed being asked to consider running for Congress but did not disclose who asked her to run for the position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are many people asking me to run, but I must first consult my family and friends,\u201d King-Hinds said.<\/p>\n<p>King-Hinds was first elected CPA board  chair in December 2018. At that time, she replaced longtime chair Jose R. Lifoifoi. She is the first woman to chair the CPA board. <\/p>\n<p>King-Hinds is a lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>At the November 2020 general elections, Delegate Gregorio Kilili C.
