{"id":344965,"date":"2021-05-27T06:07:20","date_gmt":"2021-05-26T20:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=344965"},"modified":"2021-05-27T06:07:20","modified_gmt":"2021-05-26T20:07:20","slug":"revised-budget-in-the-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/revised-budget-in-the-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Revised budget in the works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig said they are working on a revised government budget for next fiscal year to be submitted to the Legislature on or before July 1, 2021. <\/p>\n<p>In response to inquiry about budget submission during a radio press briefing last Friday, Atalig said they are looking at their current revenues and analyzing the impacts of the $481.9-million American Rescue Plan Act money that\u2019s already been remitted to the CNMI and how that plays into their current revenue projection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are going to submit the revised budget based on reporting what we\u2019re doing with ARPA [funding] and how it\u2019s subsidizing the government\u2019s operations,\u201d Atalig said.<\/p>\n<p>He said they will be submitting the revised budget before the July 1 deadline. <\/p>\n<p>House of the Representatives Ways and Means Committee chair Rep. Donald M.
