Sablan Middle School are moving into the next level: ninth grade. Students Aleeza Jolia Castro and Leia Joleen Hocog Pangelinan are the school two top students.<\/p>\n<p>Francisco M. Sablan Middle School leadership and staff, led by principal Cherlyn Cabrera-Osung and vice principal Carla Sablan, staged a lively and celebratory drive-thru promotion ceremony inside the sprawling campus on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>All of the 88 promoted students drove through in decked-out vehicles. Joined by their families and loved ones, the students paraded amid a festive atmosphere that was accompanied by upbeat music which were put together by the school staff.<\/p>\n<p>Castro, the eighth-grade class valedictorian, was also the recipient of the Board of Education Award. She received the award from Board of Education chair Andrew L. Orsini.<\/p>\n<p>Pangelinan was the class salutatorian and Commissioner of Education Award recipient. She received the award from Education Commissioner Dr. Alfred B. Ada.<\/p>\n<p>The NAPU award was presented to Uirom Park.<\/p>\n<p>Both the leadership and MSLC awards went to Castro.<\/p>\n<p>Nine subject awards were also presented during the promotion ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>The mathematics, social studies, art, and Chamorro, Carolinian and Heritage Studies-Carolinian awards went to Castro.<\/p>\n<p>Pangelinan received the CCLHS-Chamorro subject award.<\/p>\n<p>Both Castro and Pangelinan tied for the English Language Award and PLTW subject awards.<\/p>\n<p>The science subject award was presented to Andrew Ngitiyeb.<\/p>\n<p>Davierrin Blas was the computer subject award recipient.
