Gen. Esther Aguigui hosted a farewell ceremony for Rear Adm. John Menoni at the Barrigada Readiness Complex on May 24.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to an original poetry reading, Aguigui presented Menoni with a Guam Commendation Medal, a handmade galaide model and other various gifts, to thank him for his service, mentorship, and friendship over the past 18 months as the Commander of Joint Region Marianas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m happy that I\u2019m leaving, because I get to be with my family, but I\u2019m also really sad, because I\u2019m leaving a place that I love. This is a place that I truly love.\u00a0 It is a second home to me. The people are my brothers and sisters, my family and friends. It\u2019s a place where I grew up not only as an officer and as a father, but as a man.
