Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe and CHCC\u2019s conference room.<\/p>\n<p>Behavioral health and partner providers, paraprofessionals, personnel from government agencies, non-government organizations, and community members took part in the training that taught participants about ethics and confidentiality, dealing with difficult clients, drugs and the brain and medical marijuana, and motivational interviewing.<\/p>\n<p><div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-34622 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon '>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/chcc-cgc-completes-four-day-training\/chcc\/'>CHCC<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-34626'>\n\t\t\t\tDr. Jeremy Richards, right, Community Guidance Center medical director\/psychiatrist, and Herbert J. (CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)\n\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\nThe training was led by Dr. Thomas Freese, director of training at the University of California Los Angeles integrated substance abuse programs, together with representatives of the Pacific Southwest Adiction Technology Transfer Center, or PSATTC.<\/p>\n<p>Herbert Sablan, CGC substance abuse treatment supervisor, said that PSATTC assists by disseminating clinical and research information.<br \/>\n\u201cPSATTC is designed to enhance knowledge and expertise in substance use disorder treatment and recovery,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>PSATTC covers Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, American Samoa, the CNMI, Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Republic of Palau.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan noted that PSATTC also helps U.S. and Pacific jurisdictions develop, revise, and distribute curricula based on research products and form partnerships with local and regional stakeholders \u201cto ensure that the training needs of the region are identified and met.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>PSATTC, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, and CHCC-CGC staff cosponsored the training.
