Despite the government\u2019s decision to place the CNMI on Level Green in the Community Vulnerability rating scale, the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office will be sticking to its plan for a low-key Liberation Day this year.<\/p>\n
According to Mayor David M. Apatang, his office\u2019s plans for this year\u2019s celebrations will remain, as it is now too close to July 4 to make new plans.<\/p>\n
In a statement obtained via email through an Office of the Mayor staff member, Apatang explained how long it typically takes to plan Liberation Day festivities, and what will be a part of the celebrations this year. <\/p>\n
“There is still no change, it is too close to the date to start planning the Liberation Day festivities because it normally takes about four months to prepare.
