Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, in his capacity as acting governor, signed last Friday three Rota local bills into law that allocate funding the island\u2019s scholars and its medical beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p>House Local Bill 22-1, D1 appropriates $60,000 for the Rota Municipal Scholarship Foundation. This bill becomes Rota Local Law 22-1.<\/p>\n<p>House Local Bill 22-2, D1 appropriates $60,000 from the Poker Licensing Fee Account for medical subsistence allowance for Rota hemodialysis and terminally-ill patients. This bill becomes Rota Local Law 22-2.<\/p>\n<p>House Local Bill 22-6 appropriates $21,272 for inte-island medical referral stipend for Rota patients and their escorts. This bill becomes Rota Local Law 22-03.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Teresita A. Santos (Ind-Rota) and Rep. Donald Manglona (Ind-Rota), who are co-chairs of the Rota Legislative Delegation, witnessed the signing of the bills at Palacios\u2019 office at the Office of the Governor.
