{"id":348284,"date":"2021-07-20T06:06:15","date_gmt":"2021-07-19T20:06:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=348284"},"modified":"2021-07-20T06:06:15","modified_gmt":"2021-07-19T20:06:15","slug":"another-incoming-traveler-tests-positive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/another-incoming-traveler-tests-positive\/","title":{"rendered":"Another incoming traveler tests positive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CNMI\u2019s total COVID-19 cases rose to 188 yesterday when the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. and the COVID-19 Task Force said an incoming traveler tested positive via travel screening and confirmed diagnosis through fifth-day testing last July 17.<\/p>\n<p>CHCC said the individual has been moved to the designated isolation area at the Kanoa Resort alternate care site for close monitoring. The CHCC Communicable Disease Investigation\/Inspection team has initiated contact tracing for contacts with the highest risk of exposure. <\/p>\n<p>Out of the 188 total COVID-19 cases in the CNMI, 151 were identified by travel screening while 37 were local transmissions.<\/p>\n<p>CHCC added that based on what they know about vaccines for other diseases and early data from clinical trials, experts believe that getting a COVID-19 vaccine also helps keep you and your loved ones from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>CHCC, meanwhile, also announced free COVID-19 testing tomorrow, July 21, at the Kanoa Resort alternate care site, from 1pm to 3pm.<\/p>\n<p>Register on site or online at www.vaccinatecnmi.com\/covidtesting.
