The CNMI\u2019s total COVID-19 cases rose to 188 yesterday when the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. and the COVID-19 Task Force said an incoming traveler tested positive via travel screening and confirmed diagnosis through fifth-day testing last July 17.<\/p>\n
CHCC said the individual has been moved to the designated isolation area at the Kanoa Resort alternate care site for close monitoring. The CHCC Communicable Disease Investigation\/Inspection team has initiated contact tracing for contacts with the highest risk of exposure. <\/p>\n
Out of the 188 total COVID-19 cases in the CNMI, 151 were identified by travel screening while 37 were local transmissions.<\/p>\n
CHCC added that based on what they know about vaccines for other diseases and early data from clinical trials, experts believe that getting a COVID-19 vaccine also helps keep you and your loved ones from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19.<\/p>\n
CHCC, meanwhile, also announced free COVID-19 testing tomorrow, July 21, at the Kanoa Resort alternate care site, from 1pm to 3pm.<\/p>\n
