{"id":348483,"date":"2021-07-23T06:00:23","date_gmt":"2021-07-22T20:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=348483"},"modified":"2021-07-23T06:00:23","modified_gmt":"2021-07-22T20:00:23","slug":"andersen-afb-economic-impact-reaches-197-2m-in-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/andersen-afb-economic-impact-reaches-197-2m-in-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Andersen AFB economic impact reaches $197.2M in 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2020, the Andersen Air Force Base in Guam had a $197.2 million economic impact on Guam\u2019s economy, according to the base\u2019s economic analysis released January 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The report showed 6,169 total personnel within Andersen AFB, including 2,443 appropriated fund military, meaning active duty Air Force, Navy, Reserve and National Guard, 550 rotational members deployed to Guam, 2,529 active duty dependents and 647 appropriated funds civilian personnel.<\/p>\n<p>It indicated an annual federal payroll of $166.1 million amongst all personnel. Additionally, it showed Andersen AFB created approximately $38.8 million in jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe put money into positions and by doing so, it impacts the community by generating jobs and stimulating the community,\u201d said U.S. Air Force Staff. Sgt.
