{"id":348619,"date":"2021-07-26T06:02:12","date_gmt":"2021-07-25T20:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=348619"},"modified":"2021-07-26T06:02:12","modified_gmt":"2021-07-25T20:02:12","slug":"catalma-added-to-nmcs-list-of-nclex-passers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/catalma-added-to-nmcs-list-of-nclex-passers\/","title":{"rendered":"Catalma added to NMC\u2019s list of NCLEX passers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Maria Clarinda \u201cGrace\u201d Catalma, a 2021 Northern Marianas College nursing graduate, has joined the list of students who have passed the challenging National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or NCLEX-RN. She is the first in her graduating class to pass this exam.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud of Grace for passing such a rigorous test,\u201d said NMC president Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero.<\/p>\n<p>The NCLEX-RN exam is used by nursing boards in all U.S. states and territories to award nursing licenses.<\/p>\n<p>Catalma said she went into the nursing field because the feeling of having people trust someone with their health and life is \u201crewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo have the knowledge to address their concerns and reassure them is the best feeling in the world,\u201d Catalma said. \u201cWhat drove me to keep studying was the thought of people coming to me with questions that I didn&#8217;t have the answer to. I wanted to keep learning just in case I&#8217;ll have a patient, or even a friend or family, coming to me for help. I wanted to be able to answer any questions coming my way.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_348620\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-348620\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Maria-Clarinda-\u201cGrace\u201d-Catalma-mug.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-348620\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Maria-Clarinda-\u201cGrace\u201d-Catalma-mug-1024x531.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"498\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-348620\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Maria Clarinda \u201cGrace\u201d Catalma<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to Catalma, studying for the NCLEX was different from studying for classes in college.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are no due dates, no assigned quizzes, and no penalty for not studying,\u201d Catalma said. \u201cThere were days where I would do well with studying, but there were also days where I just wanted to relax. &#8230;It gets lonely, studying and isolating yourself from everyone, but having a supportive system of people by your side, waiting for your success, is really what kept me going.<\/p>\n<p>Catalma also said that NMC gave her the necessary tools in order to prepare for the NCLEX. \u201cWe also had two weeks of review with our instructor, Mrs. Lee, which helped me a lot,\u201d Catalma said. \u201cEverything I learned from the Nursing program contributed to my passage and I can&#8217;t thank my instructors enough.
