Public invited to townhall meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council will hold a village townhall meeting this Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, at the Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School cafeteria, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. The topic will be about the proposed resumption of the Saipan Neighborhood Watch program.<\/p>\n

Power interruption tomorrow <\/strong><\/p>\n

There will be a scheduled power service interruption tomorrow, Aug. 4, 2021, from 9am to 11am for Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in As Perdido and partials of Chalan Kanoa. <\/p>\n

This will allow CUC linemen to re-install the airbrake switch in the affected areas that were damaged during Super Typhoon Yutu. <\/p>\n

4.5-magnitude quake in Merizo<\/strong><\/p>\n

At\u00a06:33am\u00a0on\u00a0Aug. 2, 2021, a report of a\u00a04.5-magnitude earthquake occurred\u00a0267\u00a0kilometers west southwest of Merizo, Guam. Currently, no tsunami warnings or advisories were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 237-8000. (PR)<\/p>\n

4.9-magnitude quake in Yigo<\/strong><\/p>\n

At 11:09am on Aug. 1, 2021, a report of a 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred\u00a014.005\u00b0N 145.063\u00b0E, 55 kilometers north-northeast of Yigo, Guam. The Guam Procurement Technical Assistance Center is offering\u00a0free\u00a0live webinars this month. Webinars run from\u00a010am to 11:30am and will be conducted via Zoom.
